Vehicles in Germany's Town Found Smeared with Swastikas in Blood, Law Enforcement Confirm

Police stated they were contacted by a individual who noticed a vehicle in Hanau marked with red-colored liquid

Roughly fifty automobiles have been covered with what appears to be human bodily fluid in the Germany's city of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, police confirm authorities.

Vehicles, building surfaces and mailboxes were marked, sometimes with swastikas, they announced in a release.

Law enforcement say they were alerted late on Wednesday night, when a man noticed that a car in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been covered with a red-colored substance.

The fluid had been placed in the shape of a banned symbol, they added.

Law enforcement then located multiple other smeared vehicles and house walls in the surrounding area.

Nazi symbols are illegal in Germany under laws prohibiting the public exhibition of symbols from the Nazi era.

Law enforcement state preliminary tests indicate the liquid was probably human blood.

"Currently there is no lead as to its origin; authorities are currently not aware of any physical harm in connection with the event," they commented.

Local authorities announced they were working "to unravel the case" and have requested to the residents for tips.

An important official stated the incident left him speechless and had to be addressed promptly.

"This event hits the very heart of Hanau and reawakens the trauma of the extremist terrorist attack half a decade ago," he posted on a platform, mentioning the murder of nine people by a shooter aiming at residents of immigrant origin in 2020.
